Case Study: Textile Recycling in Action – Coleo x Boboli

Looking for real examples of circular fashion? At Coleo, we don’t just talk about sustainability — we make it happen. In partnership with Boboli, we transformed over 1,900 kg of textile waste into a brand-new collection, proving that textile-to-textile recycling is not only possible but scalable.

The Challenge: From Old Clothes to New Fashion

The fashion industry faces a major challenge: what to do with post-consumer garments. Boboli launched an initiative to collect old clothes and partnered with Coleo to turn this textile waste into high-quality, recycled fabrics for a new collection.

Together, we aimed to:

  • Support garment collection in stores

  • Promote reuse where possible

  • Recycle non-reusable textiles into new raw materials

  • Produce garments using 100% recycled fabric, with a focus on T2T (Textile-to-Textile) circularity

Key Results

  • 1,903 kg of garments collected (≈ 9,300 units)

  • 28 collection points activated

  • 64.5% valorised through reuse and recycling

  • Fabric: 100% recycled, with 80% textile-to-textile content

This project is a benchmark in sustainable garment production, showing how brands can integrate circularity into their operations.

How We Did It

  1. Collection & Sorting:
Garments were gathered at Boboli stores and sorted by Coleo’s facilities for reuse or mechanical recycling.

  2. Recycling Process:
Non-reusable textiles were processed into recycled fibres. The result? A premium fabric made from waste — with a verified 80% T2T content.

  3. Manufacturing:
Using this fabric, Boboli produced a limited collection, turning what was once discarded into a new trend.

Why This Matters

This case study highlights the potential of circular fashion when brands commit to action. It’s not just about using recycled materials — it’s about closing the loop through textile recycling, reducing waste, and creating value from what was once considered trash.

If you’re exploring how to integrate textile-to-textile recycling into your products, this is proof it can be done — at scale, with transparency, and style.
