Discover how at Coleo we created recycled uniforms by reusing 2,719 kg of post-consumer garments. A circular workwear successful story.

What happens to clothes that can no longer be worn? At Coleo, we believe no fabric should go to waste — especially when it still holds value. That belief drives our mission to turn textile waste into new materials and products.

That’s exactly what we achieved in our latest collaboration with Solidança, a leading social enterprise in Catalonia. Through its Roba Amiga network, Solidança collects and classifies post-consumer textiles, aiming to reuse or recycle as much as possible. At the same time, it creates local jobs and supports social inclusion.

Together, we recovered over 2,700 kg of garments that were no longer wearable. Instead of sending them to landfills or incinerators, we gave them a second life.

What did we do with them?
69% of the collected textiles were valorised — either through downcycling or, more ambitiously, through textile-to-textile recycling. As a result, we produced 100% recycled fabric and used it to manufacture a brand-new line of recycled uniforms.

This collaboration forms part of RETEXCAT, a Catalan initiative uniting public bodies, companies, and organisations to build a circular value chain for post-consumer textiles. RETEXCAT aims to shift the textile industry toward a regenerative and local model.

Why are these uniforms different?
They contain more than 50% textile-to-textile recycled content, proving that we can turn old garments directly into new ones — without chemicals, and with low impact.

This is more than a pilot. It’s proof that recycled uniforms made from post-consumer textiles are not only possible — they work.
